If, or when, those two showed up the last thing on their minds would be eating and drinking. At one point she caught herself wondering what Feathers and Gedan would want to drink she stopped and laughed. The main table in the living room was now filled with plastic plates, knives and forks, silver trays filled with all kinds sweet and savoury goods and a wide selection of fizzy drinks.
Keiko doubted that the people she'd invited would ever do anything to warrant such a precaution, but she had found it always best to over-cautions in such matters. The house was all ready tidy and all of the family valuables were safely stored away, so nothing would get damaged. It was 6pm by the time Keiko's mother finally left and she could finally get the rest of the preparations complete. It seemed she was going to have yet another visit from those two wonderful and infernal ticklers and more than that, they looked to have something lined up that would make all that had gone before seem ordinary.Īnd just like that, Keiko's cheeks warmed with a blush. Keiko bit her lip, thinking her mother had no idea just how right she was.

"I'm sure it'll be a great party full of fun and laughter." "Oh well, looks as though they're coming all the same." "I don't remember inviting anyone called F & G," said her mother. PS - we're gonna bring you a special treat! Thanks for the invite to your party - we'd be delighted to come! Happy birthday!! Hope today has been wonderful for you. She opened it up and read the message written inside. The card inside was a custom made one, crafted from expensive looking material, but otherwise just plain cream in colour. Her name was not written on the envelope, which was odd. Keiko took the card and carefully prized open the envelope. "It's lovely wrapping paper - I've never seen such perfect creases in the paper." "I have no idea," said Keiko testing the shape and weight of each gift to see if she could work out what each was. Grinning delightedly, Keiko took them off of her and put them in front of her. She rose from her lunch, turning to look at her mother who carried a couple of small packages wrapped sparkling violet paper. News of presents were always guaranteed to get Keiko's attentions. Everyone she had invited had responded, saying that they were coming.īut still, there was a voice in her head that whispered dark doubts and suspicions. She couldn't help but feel a trembling sense of excited anticipation and expectation about the party tonight it ought to be an amazing night. Keiko let out a breath she didn't know she'd been holding and finished the sandwich. "I'll open close the windows," said her mother.Īt that point the door bell rang and Keiko was spared any more comments from her mother as she went to see who was at the door. Without thinking, she covered her belly with one hand. Just thinking about it brought a blush to her cheeks. All the belly trembling giggles and exquisite teases from the first visit hadn't been enough the pair of them had come back only a little while later and put Keiko another tickle session.
Not just one visit, oh no, that wasn't enough.
Then, in front of her eyes, came images of the surprise visit she'd received from Gedan and Feathers. Not to mention the unique package that had arrived. Keiko's mind raced back to the first time she thought she was going to have her birthday party - that had been an experience. "Are you looking forward to your birthday party?" She wanted to absorb every little detail so she could avoid the question. The sky was blue and bright, save the streamers of cloud. She stared studiously through the kitchen window and into the garden, where a light rain was sprinkling her yard and the rest of the neighbourhood. Keiko sat at the kitchen table, munching silently on her lunch of sandwiches and fruit. "You don't seem very excited about your birthday party."
